COVID 19 FAQs

Can I get vaccinated for COVID-19

To find out if you are eligible to receive a vaccine please go to:

If you require a vaccination for COVID-19, please discuss with your Doctor and they will advise the best course of action.

How can I test for COVID-19?

There are 2 types of COVID tests available; a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test, and a rapid antigen test (RAT).

The RAT can be purchased in chemists and many shops, and completed at home. The result is available in minutes.

The PCR test is performed by a pathology collector, nurse or doctor, and processed in a lab. It can take several days to get a result.

In most cases a RAT is sufficient, however in some instances you may be required to have a PCR test eg prior to major surgery.

Guidelines will vary from state to state and between countries so be sure to check your local health information.

If I am positive for COVID-19 how long do I need to isolate for?

This will vary depending on your location. Currently in NSW you do not need to isolate if you have COVID-19. We would appreciate it if you can let us know when booking your appointment, so that we can take measures to keep you, our staff and other patient’s safe.

This is current as of October 2022. For more information please visit www.nsw.gov.au/covid-19
